7 Aug 2011

Last year August was back to mama's hometown. For those who don’t know where my mama from, it's Kampar – a small town in Perak. Kampar is rapid showing signs of new development. For instance, there was quite a number of new shops and restaurants open since the last time I had been there. So today I gonna introduce you the food divided by 'old town' and 'new town' in Kampar.

Shunka is one of the Jap restaurant I often dine out and they have one outlet in Kampar new town too. Genie know the franchisee, so I knew about it before the official announcement. I couldn't wait to try! I had been eyeing on this kampar outlet since its opening.

I was finally here after the long wait.

First of all, I'm sorry for boring you with so many pictures of the same food that appears at here and previous entry. The food looks exactly the same but taste slightly different. Environment and service are good. Food is worth to try as it is currently the finest Jap restaurant in Kampar.

Let's move on to old town food.
Lam Kee Lo Shu Fun recommended by my auntie who stays over there for more than 50 years.
It is another lesser known favourite, known to local old-timers is located at old town which few shops next to Just To Eat Bakery Shop.

We went in for early dinner before heading back to BM.

Its antique and very old mirror with some antique black stains reflect the age of this kopitiam (coffee shop).
Lo Shu Fun aka Silver Needle Noodle is selling by the 2 old ladies in the mirror.

Round old wooden tables a truly sight of an old kopitiam.
It seems like no one......but it doesn't mean that the food is not good!

It was dressed up in light soup, the home made big fish balls and fried fish dumplings were the highlight of Lam Kee Lo Shu Fun.
It was super delicioussss, yummax!!

I'm so gonna get this on my next visit!
Whatcha waiting for? Give it a try people!

So in conclusion, new town has nice food and the food in old town is not as bad as it seems.

Another two weeks to CNY. Goodbye soon, Rabbit Year! My zodiac year is dragon and therefore i can't wait for the Dragon year to come......
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR! It means lve you in dragon!!
