4 July 2009

This is ancient overdue post!
Way back to last year July!!!
We had made a tour to visit the Fairy Bakery factory in Sungai Petani.
This tour was to conduct the primary work studies concerning the operations processes and layout facilities of an organization and then had written a report of the study for Operation Mangement assignment.

Here is the brief entry for the factory tour.

Fairy was founded in 1983 by the Tan brothers and under the name of Fairy Hot Bread & Cake House in Sungai Petani. Their main business includes the manufacturing and distribution of cakes, various bread sorts, pastries, and other foodstuffs which is maintained untill today. Besides that, the company also provides management, technical supporting services to food chain outlets.

Furthermore, the business has grown in strength capabilities since its early days and a two-storey shop house was purchased in 1986 to house production and retailing of Fairy products in the town of Sungai Petani. The group further expended its distribution outlets by opening new retail cake house in North Malaysia. The Group now have 7 retail outlets in Malaysia. As I know the latest retail outlets is at Giant shopping centre, Kulim.

Uncle Tan a.k.a Eric's daddy brought us around the factory and shown us the process of making cake, bread, and cookies as well.

The freezers are -15°C.
We were shivering like motorboats inside the big freezers!
Freaking cold ~_~

Cut into slices

Wrap and ready to deliver.

Were paying attention to what Uncle is explained.

Cookies Department

Cake Department

Cakes in the giant oven.

Can see lotsa cake based over there.

And lotsa Pastry Cream too

Do you know how to decorate the cake?
Dunno?
Let's have a quick look.

First of all, print out the cartoon or picture you like on a A4 paper.
Put the plastic wrap on the A4 paper and copy the picture.

Take the ready picture on plastic wrap and paste on the cake

Then can start to color it

Ta-ta-ta-dah
Is complete!

Girls started to camwhore when uncle was busying to talk on phone.
The hygiene caps were the most funny turf. Like korea girls. I mean the ancient korea girls. Not same the hair of ancient korea girls??? Same right!!

With Uncle Tan.

Last not least

Everyone got delicious gifts(exclude the bear bear).
Thank you so much to you Uncle Tan.
